What is Acupressure?

Acupressure is an ancient Chinese therapy that differs from acupuncture in that the skin is not pierced by needles. Finger pressure is applied to any of the 341 acupoints on the body. Holding a combination of these points on various parts of the body helps the body to balance itself, thereby easing or alleviating the discomfort or imbalance.

Acupressure is the 3rd most popular method for treating pain and illness in the world. Many massage schools in America include an array of acupressure techniques as part of their training programs. The World Health Organization began extensive research on acupressure in the 1970's and declared that acupressure medicine is highly effective in treating 40 major diseases. A complete health system that has been documented for the treatment of over 3,000 conditions, and has no side effects.

The following is a list of some of the people I have treated using acupressure or energy work: Construction workers, expectant mothers, farmers, teenagers, adults, seniors, infants, toddlers, office workers, professional athletes, truck drivers, doctors, veterans, amputees, nurses, chiropractors, lawyers, chefs, religious leaders, homemakers, salesmen, coaches, IT professionals, bus drivers, mechanics, painters, scientists, carpenters, teachers, welders, professors, woodsmen, realtors, dancers, oil and gas workers, retailers, Christians, Muslims, Atheists, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, Hutterites, Agnostics, etc.

I have given treatments onboard a warship in the South China Sea, in the Australian outback, aboard a commercial airliner, on a beach on Salt Spring Island, within a stone labyrinth, inside a chicken coop, and while a passenger in an automobile.

How long does a treatment take?

Sessions take approximately one hour, however longer treatments are available by request.

What is Reiki/energy work?

There are a multitude of terms in many languages to describe the practice of consciously focusing the energy of the universe to help a person to ease and calm a challenge or difficulty. For example, pain from an injury, a toothache, symptoms of sciatica or teething discomfort in a child. A scientist might refer to it as the focused energy of the universe, whereas a spiritual or religious person may say it is a practice in which a compassionate person uses the energy of God or The Creator to help another. Regardless of the many possible explanations for how it works, in my experience and humble opinion, it most certainly does.
